"Bodies under Siege" is a tongue lashing poetry and music showcase headlined by an all-star 4 poets. These household names Siphokazi Jonas, Vuyelwa Maluleke, Emmah Mabye and Wazi M Kunene accompanied by an all women quartet band lead by Sibongile Buda aka Miss Buda Bass. The story line narrated by cultural activist and storyteller MoAfrika `a Mokgathi. Through their works, they have been very vocal, introspective to women issues, including femicide, body shaming, patriarchy and many other societal issues facing women. In 2018 women still have to grapple for full recognition in society and equal pay for equal work, our women still face gender biases, misrepresentation and rape culture. The narrative is still about women overcoming limitations of their gender in order to excel in what is deemed to be "masculine industries". This production showcases the ability for women to overcome adversity in different public spaces and still exude excellence, empathy, co-creation, dignity and strenght and defintely the power of feminism.

Tickets can be collected from the theatre box office which opens 1 hour before start of show.
However, to avoid queues, tickets may be collected at any Computicket store or at any Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, House and Home or at selected OK Furniture and Usave stores. Credit cards used to make the booking must be presented when collecting the tickets.

Safe parking available in garages which may be accessed from the corner of Church and Prinsloo, or from Pretorius Street, between the theatre and ABSA. Once in the garage, the Opera and Drama auditoria can be accessed by lift.

The State Theatre is easily accessible for disabled patrons. Special parking bays are located near the lifts in the basement parking and all theatres are accessible by lifts and have ramps and special toilet facilities.
